goodgolllymissmollly asked: What are some must-have makeup brushes for the face and eyes? Thank you:)
In general what I use are as follows: for the face- a stiff flat-top kabuki brush for my face and to powder it; a small contour brush for bronzer and to contour my cheekbones and forehead, a small fluffy dome-shaped brush for blush. Most of my face brushes are Real Technique Face Brushes:
As for the eyes, I use a stiff shading brush to pack on color and a fluffy contour brush for the crease. I like using some of the elf brushes for my eyes and some of the MAC ones that come in the giftsets for the holidays.

Those are the ones that I personally use on a daily basis. But to be more concise and get straight to answer your question:
- face and powder brush
- blush brush
- contour or bronzer brush
- fluffy eyeshadow brush (for highlight or wash of color)
- stiff flat shaped brush (to pack color)
- a tapered brush (to contour for crease)
- definer brush (for smudging or detailing)
- angled brush (for eyebrows or liner)
Those are the ones that I can think of that you could need in a regular basis. The ones that I could recommend for you as a set would be the Sigma Complete set that pretty much comes with everything you need.

I hope this helped! :)

Review:
This mineral infused mascara is part of ELF’s Studio line that retails for $3 to $5 & for the most part, most of their products from their Studio Line have been great. However, I’m just going to be straight-forward and get to the point with this product: I did not like it, at all. I honestly tried to make it work for me, but this mascara was not cutting it for me. The formula was too wet and goopy, the brush did not separate my lashes nor added any volume or length to my lashes. If anything, it actually clumped my lashes together and when I tried separating them or comb them out with the wand (without adding anymore product) it just smeared on to my eye or just got worse. I was really disappointed in the performance of this mascara. I really had high hopes for it, because everything that I had tried in the Studio line has worked for me magnificently, but this mascara just fell short and did not meet up it’s standards or claims.
Things that could have made this mascara better would be the formula itself. If it had the right balance of moisture, I think it could live up to it’s expectations and give a better performance. As well as the brush/wand… the bristles were too short for my taste. If the bristles were a bit longer and fuller, I think this mascara would be awesome and deliver and live up to it’s expectations. Overall, I would not look into repurchasing this mascara again, unless there were changes in the formula or the wand.
I would give this mascara 1 out of 5. Sorry :/
If any of you lovelies have tried this mascara and think otherwise, please let me know if it worked for you!
xoxo- Cynthia.
Day 29: Do you like wearing liquid eyeliner? (if so, what’s your favorite)
ELF’s Liquid Eyeliner

Total repost, I know! I didn’t read that far ahead in my makeup challenge, but this is my favorite liquid liner. From the last Eyeliner Post: I tried this liquid eyeliner about two years ago and have been hooked ever since. This is one of my all-time favorite ELF products- I love the formula on this as well; it’s not too wet or goopy, it’s just about right. & the Black is a true dark matte black. I love the felt tip and it’s very sturdy and doesnt come apart like other liquid liner applicators; it’s pointy and precise and perfect for a defined line or winged liner :)
Day 25: Favorite Eyeliner?
BareMinerals Big & Bright Eyeliner in Intense Black

This has got to be one of the best eyeliners that I have ever used. & trust me, I’ve used plenty in my lifetime! I love the formula, how smooth it is, the pigmentation, how long it lasts and it doesn’t smear or get all runny. It is smudgable, but once you put it on and it sets, it wont budge. I also love that it’s an automatic liner & has a smudger with it! I went through this eyeliner very quick and have yet to repurchase a new one!
My favorite liquid eyeliner would have to be ELF’s Liquid Eyeliner.

Day 15: Do you wear blush?
Why, yes. Yes, I do. I love wearing blush! Especially during the winter, only because it adds a nice contrast to my already pale & flushed skin… mhmm. I like wearing corals and pinky tones, I feel like those colors suit me the best. Here are some of my favorites:
Benefit’s Bella Bamba (watermelon pink) & Coralista (the name says it all)
ELF’s Tickled Pink (natural, flushed pink with slight golden undertones)
VS Beauty Rush in Fresh Love (subtle pink, may look a bit on the coral-neutral side)
MAC’s Mineralize Blush in Buddy Up (deep fushia pink)
I want more blushes! If any of you would like to recommend any ones that you’re quite fond of, please let me know! :)
