Day 02: How did you learn to put makeup on?

I was self-taught through observation and practice. When I started wearing make up regularly, I picked up some tips from friends and peers, then looked to youtube tutorials to improve some of my blending skills. I’m still learning new techniques, but application is all based on preferences and what works for you best.

I’ll begin my first review with one of my personal favorite make up brands, Benefit. I’m absolutely in love with  their make up line, the cute packaging and of course the products they have to offer. I always find myself going first to the Benefit aisle in Sephora (partially because it is the first aisle in front of the entrance in most locations).  I remember spending a better part of a half hour in that aisle exploring what that brand had to offer and one of the things that caught my attention when I was first introduced to the brand was not only their cute, girly and vintage theme, but the presentation of their products. Some of their staple items that stood out on the counter such as “Benetint” “Posietint” and BADgal Lash, along  with their highly pigmented blushes are some of the things that really caught my interest.
However, this review is solely dedicated to one of my personal holy grail items that I must necessarily use in my daily make up routine. This item was recommended by the one and only, Emily Eddington of BeautyBroadcast (I love her videos, if you haven’t checked out, please do! http://www.youtube.com/emilynoel83 ).  She gushed on how much she liked the product and compared it to Bobbi Brown’s salmon concealer (which I’ll do a review later on) & she did a demonstration and comparison on the two. I put that item on my shopping list and one day on shopping trip to Sephora, I saw by the checkout stand that they offered the travel size version of it along with 2 other small items being: Stay & Don’t Stray and Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow, all for $10. So I swooped it up and decided to try it right away.
Now, I must inform you that I’m quite the night owl/insomniac that typically runs on an average of 5 to 8 hours of sleep per night & I have horrible bags and dark circles (sad face). I was desperately looking for an item that would help solve that problem and luckily, I did. I loved the texture and full-coverage it gave me and it instantly brightened my under-eye area and makes me look more awake and fresh. I usually apply it with my ring finger lightly dabbing it around my dark circles and corners of my eyes. ( I also blend it in so it looks almost natural). I like to use this product as well around some of the dark or uneven spots in my face and that cancels out the discoloration and serves as a multi-purpose concealer. I love that it’s not too heavy or cakey, but it manages to cover and conceal my flaws with just a bit of product. A little does go a long way and it is long-wearing as well. Erase Paste has become part of my permanent make up routine that has withstood some ever changing products from the past year or so.
I am very happy with Benefit’s Erase Paste, I have gone through at least 2 of the minis (which have lasted me about 3-4 months each).  FYI: I’m light/fair-medium skin tone and use the Medium No.2, if thats of any help or insight.

Does It live up to its claims and expectations?  Yes.

Will I repurchase it? Yes, it’s totally worth the money.

I hope that this review was helpful and insightful to some to some of you, please let me know your thoughts on this product or if you feel differently and why. I hope all of you lovelies are doing well!
xoxo, Cynthia.
